FRENCH APPLE PIE 
1 unbaked pie shell (9 inch)
6 to 7 c. apples, peeled and sliced
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter, softened

Combine apples, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. Put into pie shell. Dot with butter. Combine brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and butter until crumbly. Put crumb topping over apple mixture. Bake at 425 degrees for 45 to 55 minutes. Serve warm with cream or ice cream.
