RAISIN DESSERT 
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. raisins
1 c. vanilla

BATTER:

2 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. sugar
3/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. milk
1/3 c. chopped nuts

Mix first 7 ingredients in a saucepan and boil for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Meanwhile make batter by creaming butter and sugar. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together and add milk all at once and stir until dry ingredients are thoroughly blended. Pour batter into buttered 9 inch square pan and pour raisin syrup over it. Sprinkle nuts over top and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or less until golden brown.
