COUNTRY STEAK AND ONIONS 
2 tbsp. shortening
2 lb. round steak
1 c. boiling water
1 1/2 c. sliced onions
2 tbsp. flour
Dash of salt and pepper

Brown onions in fat. (Beat steak, rub with flour, salt and pepper.) Remove onions from pan and brown beef on both sides. Add onions and water to meat. Cover and simmer slowly for about 1 hour or until tender.
