ANISE BUTTER COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. anise oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
Granulated sugar for rolling
Red & green candied cherries

Cream butter; add sugar gradually, mix in anise oil, vanilla and salt. Blend in flour. Shape into 1 inch balls; roll in sugar. Place on greased cookie sheets. Flatten slightly with glass dipped in sugar. Decorate with cherries. Bake 12 to 14 minutes in 375 degree oven.
