ANISE COOKIES (SOFT) 
3 c. flour
1 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
3 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tsp. anise
1 1/2 tsp. lemon extract
1 c. butter

FROSTING:

1 box confectioners sugar
1/2 stick of butter
1/4 c. hot milk
1 tsp. lemon extract

Use 2 bowls. In smaller bowl mix dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt). Cream together sugar, eggs, anise, lemon extract and butter in larger bowl. Slowly add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Refrigerate 1 hour; roll into one inch balls and bake in 350 degree oven for approximately 12 minutes (on greased cookie sheet.

Frosting; Mix all ingredients together. When cookies are cool, dip in frosting and then dip in non-pariels or nuts, etc. Makes 5 1/2 dozen.
