SOUP PENNSYLVANIA-DUTCH STYLE 
3 tbsp. oil
3 or 4 beef bones
2 lbs. or so cut up beef
2 cut up onions
6 sliced carrots
2 or 3 stalks sliced celery
1 pkg. frozen beans or peas
3/4 c. rice or
6 potatoes cut into chunks
46 oz. tomato juice
1 tsp. sugar

Pour oil in a large pot. Brown meat and bones. Cover with water. Add vegetables; add tomato juice and sugar; salt and pepper to taste. Cover and cook in slow oven (200 degrees) for 8 hours or until meat falls off bones easily. You can work out your own variations on this theme. Amounts listed are not rigid.
