MULLIGATAWNY SOUP 
2 lg. onions, diced
1/2 c. lean ham, diced
1 carrot, diced
1/4 turnip, diced
1 apple, diced
1 oz. (2 tbsp.) butter
2 tsp. curry powder
2 tbsp. flour
2 qt. water

Melt butter, stir in flour and curry powder. Gradually stir in 2 quarts of water. Add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil and boil gently for 1 hour. Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice (or to taste).
