HONEY COOKIES 
1 lb. flour
2 level tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. cloves or cinnamon
1/2 lb. granulated sugar (1/4 brown & 1/4 white may be used)

Sift flour, baking soda and cloves or cinnamon. Make a well and add: 1/2 lb. sugar 1/2 lb. honey

Mix well with fork, gradually add the flour mixture until it forms a smooth dough. Let stand 10-15 minutes. Cover with a bowl.

Divide into 2 parts. Sprinkle flour on board and roll out to 1/2 inch thick. Cut into any shape with cookie cutter. Place on a greased and floured cookie sheet. Brush tops with whole beaten egg and put 1/2 almond on top of each cookie. Bake 5-7 minutes at 425 degrees. Makes 70 cookies.
