OLD FASHIONED BROWNIES 
2 eggs
1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. shortening, melted
2 (1 oz.) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. chopped walnuts

Beat eggs lightly with spoon. Stir in sugar, salt and vanilla. Add shortening and chocolate. Stir in flour and walnuts. Do not beat at any time. Spread mixture into a greased 8" square pan. Bake at 325 degrees for about 30 minutes. (Brownies should still be soft.) Let cool in pan. Cut into 18 to 24 bars.
