BLONDE BROWNIES 
2 2/3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. butter
2 1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
3 eggs
1 c. chopped nuts
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces

Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch pan. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. In large saucepan, melt butter. Stir in brown sugar. Cool 10 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat after each addition. Stir in flour mixture, nuts and chocolate pieces until well blended. Spread in pan.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until center springs back when lightly touched. Cool and cut into 2-inch squares.

Makes 3 dozen.
