"GRANDMA WELCH'S" PEANUT SQUARES 
1 tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. water
1 1/2 c. flour
1 heaping tsp. baking powder

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 8x10 inch cake pan. Beat all ingredients in mixing bowl. Bake 20 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool cake and cut into squares. (Cake will not be very thick.)

THIN VANILLA FROSTING:

1/3 c. butter
2 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 to 4 tbsp. hot water

Heat butter in saucepan until melted. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Stir in water 1 tablespoon at a time, until glaze is desired consistency. Glaze should not be too runny but also not too thick.

Put ground unsalted peanuts into a bag. Dip cake in frosting. Shake in bag to cover with peanuts. Place on a plate to let set.
