BLONDIES 
1 c. shortening or butter
1 lb. light brown sugar
3 tbsp. hot water
3 eggs
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts
12 oz. chocolate chips

Melt shortening. Add brown sugar. Stir well. Remove from heat, add hot water, stir. Allow to cool. Add eggs, beating after each one. Add dry ingredients and nuts. Spread on well greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle chips on top. Bake at 350 degrees, 20-25 minutes. Cut in squares and enjoy!
