BLONDIES 
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
2 1/4 c. (1 box) brown sugar
3 eggs
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 pkg. semi-sweet morsels

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Melt shortening and add sugar. Stir until well mixed and let cool. Add eggs, one at a time and beat well each time. Add dry ingredients, then broken nut meats and chocolate bits. Pour into greased 9x13x2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. When nearly cool, cut in squares.
