FRENCH ONION SOUP (MICROWAVE) 
3 med. onions, thin sliced
3 tbsp. butter
2 (10 oz.) can beef consomme
1 1/2 cans water
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. Swiss cheese
French bread

In 3-quart covered casserole, onion and butter on high 5 minutes. Stir, high for additional 5 minutes. Add broth, water, salt and pepper. Cover, high for 20 minutes. Add thick toasted French bread and shredded Swiss cheese. Microwave 1 minute per serving. Serves 4.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
