FRENCH ONION SOUP (MICROWAVE)
3 lg. onions, sliced
1/4 c. butter
1 1/4 tbsp. all-purpose flour
2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans condensed beef broth
2 c. water
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
6 slices French bread, toasted
3 c. shredded Monterey Jack or Mozzarella cheese

Place onions and butter in 3-quart microwave-proof casserole. Cover tightly and microwave on high 4 minutes; stir. Cover and microwave until tender, 4 to 5 minutes longer. Stir in flour, broth, water and Worcestershire sauce. Cover and microwave until boiling, 10 to 12 minutes.

Place 1 slice toast in each of 6 heatproof soup bowls or casserole; pour soup over toast. Sprinkle with cheese. Broil soups 3 to 4 inches from heat until cheese is melted and lightly browned, about 5 minutes. 6 servings, 1 cup each.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
