APPLE BREAD 
BATTER:

1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. sour milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. peeled, coarsely chopped apples

CRUMB MIXTURE:

1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. cold butter

Cream together butter and sugar. In separate bowl, dissolve soda in sour milk, then mix in eggs and vanilla. Add to butter mixture. Add flour and salt. Gently stir in apples.

Mix crumb ingredients to coarse crumb texture.

Spoon half of batter into greased loaf pan. Sprinkle with half of crumb mixture. Cover with remaining batter. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture. Bake at 325 degrees for about 1 to 1 1/4 hours or until cake tester comes out clean. Cool slightly in pan. Remove from pan and complete cooling on wire rack. Yield: 1 loaf.
