KOLACHE 
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 c. boiling water
2 tbsp. yeast
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. water, warm
2 beaten eggs
6 - 6 1/2 c. flour
6 tbsp. shortening
Possible fillings: prune, apricot, poppy seed

Scald sugar and salt with boiling water and cool. Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water and let work.

Add the 2 beaten eggs and the yeast mixture to the first mixture. Add 3 cups flour and mix well. Rest about 15 minutes then add shortening and rest of flour. Make small buns and fill with favorite filling. Bake 20 minutes at 400 degrees.
