LOW- CAL RANCH CHEX MIX
Chex mix (whatever kind is your favorite)
Pretzels (optional)
nuts (optional)
goldfish crackers (optional)
whatever else you want to put in your mix
1 packet of dry Ranch mix (spicy or regular)
cooking spray
oven
deep pan
aluminum foil for easy clean up
big spoon or spatula
bags or container for storage

I use a big roasting pan so that I can make a large batch all at once.

Line pan with aluminum foil. Dump check mix and all other ingredients into oven safe pan. Spray cooking spray over ingredients while stirring to cover evenly. Lightly shake dry Ranch over ingredients while stirring to ensure even distribution. 1 packet makes a lot.

Add mix to desired taste. You might need to spray a little more cooking spray and stir awhile to get it all coated. Preheat oven to around 300°F. Put pan in oven and stir every 15 minutes for about 30-45 minutes. Taste test for crunchiness. (I usually pop it on broil for a few minutes stirring every minute to get it extra crispy!)

The cooking spray is a much lower calorie option over butter, and the dry Ranch isn't bad on calories when you take into consideration how much it makes. I use the Rice Chex because they are the least calories.

I store in sandwich baggies for easy grab-n-go snacks. Make sure to bag it up soon as it cools so it doesn't get stale.
