1 c. sugar
1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. oil
2 eggs
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tsp. baking powder

Combine first 5 ingredients and cream until light and fluffy. Combine remaining ingredients and add to above until well mixed. roll into small balls, roll in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and press with bottom of glass. Dough will be soft, can be refrigerated for a while but it isn't necessary. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes depending on the size balls you roll.
