EMPIRE BISCUITS 
3 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 lb. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda

Lightly grease cookie sheet.

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Add flour, cream of tartar and baking soda. Roll out on floured board and cut into desired size.

Bake at 325°F for approximately 14 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely. Place small amount of jelly between 2 cookies. Frost by mixing powdered sugar with a few drops of vanilla and small amount of milk.
