CINNAMON APPLE BARS 
1 pkg. white cake mix
1 1/4 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 egg
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 medium apples, thinly sliced

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 12 to 15 inch pizza pan or 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, combine cake mix, oats, and 6 tablespoons butter until crumbly. Set aside 1 cup of crumbs for topping. Blend egg into remaining crumbs. Press evenly into prepared pan. Bake for 12 minutes. Turn reserved crumbs into bowl and add remaining 2 tablespoons butter, nuts, brown sugar, and cinnamon; beat at low speed until well mixed. Arrange apple slices on baked crust. Sprinkle with cinnamon-crumb mixture. Return to oven and bake 20-25 minutes until light golden brown. Cool. Cut into wedges or squares. Serves 12-15.
