ITALIAN DREAM CAKE | |
1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. butter 2 c. sugar 5 eggs, separate 2 c. cake flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. buttermilk 1 c. pecans 1 can flaked coconut Cream butters and sugar. Add egg yolks, one at a time. Beat well after each. Sift flour and soda. Add alternately with buttermilk. Beat well. Add vanilla, nuts and coconut. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Grease three 9 inch pans very well because it sticks easily. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. FROSTING: 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 1/4 c. butter 1 lb. powdered sugar 1 tsp. vanilla Cream together butter and cream cheese. Add sugar and vanilla. "My Mom's favorite." |
