SWEET CORNBREAD 
1 c. yellow corn meal
1 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 c. milk
1 egg
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. shortening

Set oven at 400 degrees. Use 8-inch square pan. Mix dry ingredients and shortening; add milk and egg; mix together. Batter will be a little bit lumpy. Bake until golden brown crust.
