HOPPING JOHN - NEW YEAR'S DAY
TRADITION
 
1 c. blackeyed peas
1 c. long grain rice
1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes, drained
Hogjowl or ham hock

Cook peas in usual manner adding hogjowl or ham hock. Cook rice in usual manner. Prior to serving, combine peas, rice, and tomatoes. Heat thoroughly.
