DANISH PASTRY | |
CRUST: 1/2 c. butter 1 c. flour 3 tbsp. water TOPPING MIXTURE: 1/2 c. butter 1 c. water 1 c. flour 3 eggs FROSTING: 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar 2 tbsp. butter 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla Cut together 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup flour. Sprinkle with water. Form into 2 balls. Pat balls into 2 long thin crusts on a cookie sheet. Boil 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup water. Add flour all at once, stirring until ball forms over low heat. Remove from heat. Add eggs, one at a time, stirring until mixed. Spread over crust. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 35 minutes (until golden brown). Mix remaining ingredients and spread over warm pastry. Adding sprinkles, chopped maraschino cherries or sliced almonds makes it very festive looking. |
