A MOIST OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/2 c. boiling water over
1 c. quick Quaker oats
1 stick butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar, granulated
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 or 2 tsp. vanilla

Pour in flat well greased pan 9x13. Bake 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Remove and while hot spread the following frosting on the top and return to oven for 7 to 15 minutes or until brown.

FROSTING:

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. nuts or coconut or both
1/2 c. canned (evaporated) milk
4 tsp. butter, soft

Mix. Put on top while cake is hot.
