CABBAGE SALAD 
1 medium head cabbage, shredded
1 c. celery, cut fine
1 green pepper, chopped fine
1/2 c. carrot, grated

Sprinkle salt over above ingredients, then pour ice water over and let stand 1 hour. Drain and rinse. Make the following dressing and pour hot over vegetables. Boil 1 c. sugar, 1/2 c. vinegar and 1/2 c. water. Keep in refrigerator until ready to use. Will keep several days.
