WHOLE WHEAT BISCUITS | |
2 c. whole wheat flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1/3 c. oil 4 tsp. baking powder 3/4 c. skim or buttermilk Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Mix dry ingredients. Work oil into dry ingredients with pastry knife or fork. Add milk and stir until dough leaves the side of the bowl. Knead very lightly (do not over knead) on lightly floured surface. roll into 1/2-inch thickness and cut with a 2-inch biscuit cutter. Bake until lightly brown on ungreased sheet. Makes about 12 biscuits. 1 biscuit = 115 calories. |
