PUFFY FRENCH TOAST 
8 slices white bread
1/2 c. jelly

BATTER:

1 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs, separated
1/2 c. milk

Spread bread with jelly and make 4 sandwiches. Cut into triangles. Mix flour, sugar, egg yolks and milk together and fold stiffly beaten egg whites into the batter. Dip bread triangles into batter and fry in deep fat. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serves 8.
