SPANISH OKRA 
3 bacon slices
1 sm. chopped bell pepper
4 sliced green onions, including tops
1/2 c. water
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
1 lb. sliced fresh or frozen okra

Fry bacon in heavy skillet. Remove bacon, leaving drippings in skillet and reserving bacon. Add bell pepper and onion to skillet. Cook 5 minutes. Add okra and water. Cover and cook 20 minutes. Stir in tomato sauce, chili powder, pepper and salt, cooking slowly 25 minutes. Garnish with crumbled bacon, if desired. Good served on rice. 4 servings.
