1 c. sugar
1/2 c. lard, creamed
1 c. sour milk (or 1 c. sweet milk plus 1 tbsp. vinegar)
1/2 c. pancake syrup
2 c. flour
Vanilla
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Sift flour and baking soda together. Combine ingredients. Bake slowly in 300 degree oven.
