BLACK WALNUT COOKIES 
1 1/2 butter sticks
1 c. white sugar
2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. black walnut meats (or 1 c. pecan pieces)
5 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda

Melt butter. Add white sugar and brown sugar, eggs and vanilla. Mix well. Sift salt, soda and flour together. Add half of dry ingredients and beat. Stir in walnuts (or pecans). Blend in rest of flour mixture. Shape into two long, thin rolls and wrap each in plastic or waxed paper. Refrigerate or freeze. Slice and bake as needed.

Bake at 400°F for 8 to 10 minutes depending on your oven and thickness of slices.
