WALNUT OATMEAL CRISPS 
1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 cups oatmeal
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Cream shortening and sugars; add eggs and vanilla; beat well and add sifted dry ingredients, oats and chopped nuts. Form long rolls and chill in refrigerator.

Slice 1/4-inch thick. Place on cookie sheet.

Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
