PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE 
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. melted butter
1 c. pineapple halves
1 c. sugar
1 1/3 c. self-rising flour
1/3 c. shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. milk
Pecan halves

Melt butter, sprinkle brown sugar over butter. Place pineapple halves and pecans over brown sugar. (I use 10 inch iron frying pan.)

Mix in bowl, sugar, flour and add shortening, egg, milk and vanilla. Mix good. Pour over fruit in frying pan. Bake 30-40 minutes in 350 oven. Turn upside down on platter.
