Use as a dessert or appetizer. Wonderful for a coffee or brunch. 1 lb. butter, softened 1 pt. sour cream 4 c. flour 2 c. pecans, finely chopped 1 1/2 c. sugar 2 tbsp. cinnamon 2 c. powdered sugar, sifted 1/4 tsp. maple flavoring 2 tbsp. melted butter 1. Combine the butter, sour cream, and flour; mix well. Chill dough at least one hour. 2. While dough is chilling, mix the pecans, sugar, and cinnamon. 3. Form 6 balls from the dough. On a floured board, roll each ball thin like for pie crust. Sprinkle generously with the sugar mixture, using 1/6th. Roll the sugar mixture into the dough. Cut into 12 slices, like tiny pie slices. Roll as for crescent rolls. Repeat with each ball. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Frost while still warm. FROSTING: Mix the 2 cups sifted powdered sugar, 1/4 teaspoon maple flavoring, 2 tablespoons melted butter If needed add enough milk for spreading consistency. |
