HOLIDAY SUGAR COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. sifted confectioners' sugar (powdered sugar)
1 c. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Cream sugar and butter; mix in egg and flavoring. Stir dry ingredients together and blend into sugar mixture. Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours or more. Roll; cut and bake or form into balls. Dip into sugar and press flat with greased and sugared glass bottom. Bake at 375 degrees for 7 to 8 minutes.
