CRACKED WHEAT BREAD 
4 c. warm water
1/3 c. shortening
4 tsp. salt
5-7 c. flour
2 pkgs. dry yeast
1/4 c. sugar
3 c. cracked wheat

Mix water, shortening, sugar and salt. Add wheat flour, then yeast that has been soaked in warm water. Add white flour until stiff. Let rise until double. Knead. Let rise again. Put into pans. Let rise until double again. Bake 350 degrees 30 minutes. 5 small or 3 large loves.
