TEA-TIME IN SELMA | |
A dark, sweet, moist, and nourishing whole wheat bread. 1/2 c. dark brown sugar 3/4 c. cold water 1/2 c. blackstrap molasses 3/4 c. milk 2 c. whole wheat flour 1 c. white flour 1 tsp. salt 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 c. coarsely chopped walnuts Preheat oven to 275 degrees. Grease two loaf pans. Put brown sugar in bowl. Add water, stir until sugar dissolves. Stir in molasses and milk. Add the flours, salt, baking powder and mix well. Stir in walnuts. Spoon into pans, bake 2 hours. Serve with your favorite warm beverage. 2 loaves. |
