KOLACKY RECIPE 
1 qt. liquid (1/2 milk, 1/2 water)
2 pkgs. fresh yeast
3/4 c. shortening (1/2 butter, 1/2 lard)
2/3 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
2 heaping tsp. salt
Dash of nutmeg or mace
9 c. flour (heaping)

Scald liquid and let cool. When lukewarm, add crumbled yeast, shortening, sugar, egg yolks, salt and spice. Then add flour. Knead well and let rise at least an hour or until double in bulk. Knead again and let rise for 45 minutes longer. Make kolacky's and let rise about 45 minutes. Bake in moderately hot oven (375) for 25 minutes.

PRUNES:

Stew 1 pound prunes. Cut, chopped and pitted. Sugar to taste Tsp. cinnamon
