1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. boiling water
3 c. sliced peaches

Bring to boil.

1 c. flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. milk

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt - cut in shortening. Add milk and mix with fork. Pour fruit mixture into buttered 10 x 6 inch baking dish. Dot with butter. Drop flour mixture by spoon on fruit.
