DEEP DISH APPLE CRISP 
3 lb. apples
1 lemon, juiced
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. or more cinnamon
1/8 tsp. or more nutmeg
1 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
Pinch of salt
6 tbsp. cubed unsalted butter
1/4 c. sliced almonds

Peel, core and slice apples and toss with juice of 1 lemon. Mix cornstarch, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add to apples and toss. Arrange in 1 1/2 quart baking dish.

Mix flour, brown sugar, salt and butter with fingertips until crumbly. Combine with 1/4 cup almonds and sprinkle over apples. Bake in 400 degree oven for 45 minutes.
