RAISIN BUTTERMILK PIES 
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. raisins (cooked)
1 stick butter
4 tbsp. flour (heaping)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sugar (use 1 3/4 c.)

Bring raisins to boil, turn down heat and simmer for 30 minutes, drain. Put butter in raisins and melt, mix sugar and flour, add to raisins, add vanilla. Stir. Pour in buttermilk. DO NOT STIR. Add soda. Stir. Pour in unbaked crust and bake at 325 degrees until done.
