OATMEAL CARAMEL BARS 
3/4 c. butter
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 c. oatmeal
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts
32 light candy caramels
5 tbsp. cream or evaporated milk

Combine butter, sugar, soda, salt, oatmeal and flour until crumbly. Press 2/3 of mixture in 9"x13" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Sprinkle with chips and nuts. Cover with caramel mixture.

Caramel Mixture: Melt caramels and cream in microwave or in double boiler. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture. Bake 15 minutes or until brown. Better to under bake.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
