OATMEAL CARAMEL BARS 
Bake in oven for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

35 caramel candy sqs.
5 tbsp. heavy cream
1 c. flour
1 c. quick oats
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. melted butter
12 oz. chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts (I like pecans)

(I use 100% Quaker Cereal - raisin and date kind. Put oats in blender and make crumbs before using.)

In top of double boiler melt candy, cream. Can do in microwave. Meanwhile combine flour, oats, and sugar, soda and salt and butter. Press 3/4 of mixture into well greased 11 x 7 inch baking pan and bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees.

Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans over baked crumbs mixture and pour caramel mixture over top. Sprinkle in remaining crumbs and bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Chill 2 hours before cutting into small bars.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
