3 c. sugar
2/3 c. Hershey's cocoa
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. butter

Combine cocoa and sugar. Slowly pour in milk with heat on high. Constantly stir the mixture until it comes to a boil. As soon as it starts boiling, turn to medium heat and leave it until it reaches the "soft ball" stage.

Remove from heat. Add vanilla and butter and let it set until it looks glossy. Stir well and pour into buttered dish.

My mother has used this recipe for years and it has become a family favorite for holiday treats.
