PIONEER CAKE 
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
6 tbsp. cocoa
Pinch of salt
2 tsp. baking soda in 2 c. of sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. sifted flour

1. Mix salt and flour and sift.

2. Cream shortening and sugar.

3. Add vanilla and cocoa.

4. Add soda to sour cream.

5. Mix alternately with flour until well blended. Put in a 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes.
