CANDY'S FLAKEY PIE CRUST | |
5 c. flour 2 1/2 c. Crisco 1/2 tsp. salt 2 c. water This pie crust is very simple to make!! It's difficult to ruin it. Put your flour in a large bowl. Add your salt and stir it a little. Then add your shortening. With a pastry cutter or (knife and fork will do), cut the shortening into the flour until it is light and crumbly. Add the water slowly while you stir your mixture. You should be careful not to make your mixture sloppy. Continue to add water only until your crust is soft and ready to form into four large balls of crust. Roll some flour onto your counter top. Roll your balls of soft crust in it and roll them out to fit your pie pans. This should make enough crust for 4 - 9 inch pans, top and bottom. |
