MOLASSES GINGER SNAPS 
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. molasses
3 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Add eggs and molasses and beat well. Stir together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture a small amount at a time, beating well after each addition. Form into 1" balls, roll in sugar, place on ungreased cookie sheet about 2" apart. Press each ball with fork prong. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes, or until lightly browned on bottom. Makes about 8 dozen cookies.
