ORANGE FRENCH TOAST 
1 lg. orange
6 eggs
1/4 tsp. ground cardamon
1/2 c. butter
12 slices French bread or sour dough bread

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Grate orange to make 1 tablespoon grated peel. Squeeze orange to get 1/3 cup juice. Add juice, eggs, cardamon to orange peel; mix well with wire whisk. Place 1/4 cup butter into each of two 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inch jelly roll pans.

Place pans in oven to melt butter and then remove from oven. Dip bread slices in batter to coat sides well and place in single layer in jelly roll pans. Bake 5 minutes, turn and bake 5 minutes more. Serve with warm maple syrup.
