CHERRY BARS 
2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
3 c. flour
2 (16 oz.) cans cherry pie filling (can use apple or blueberry)

Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla and beat until smooth. Gradually add flour and beat until smooth. Spread 3/4 of the batter on a 15x10 inch greased cookie sheet. Add the cans of pie filling all over the batter. Dobble the remaining batter on top of the filling and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

When slightly warm, drizzle thin icing over the bars. Let set awhile then cut and serve.
